EAST TEXAS – The defending Class 2A State Champions in Girls’ Golf are still on top of their game as they drove, chipped and putted their way to first place at the Brook Hill Tournament held in Bullard at the Eagles’ Bluff Country Club.

The Sandiettes shot a combined 376 to win the team event while Cheney Boyd shot a 76 to take home the low-scoring individual title. Teammates Mary Jane Watson shot a 92, while Carly Parker carded a 93. Amy Crook shot a 115 and Gracie Conner had a 116.

This isn’t the first tournament the Grapeland girls have won as they finished in first place at the Hudson Golf Tournament earlier this year. Mary Jane Watson was the low-scoring individual in that tournament while Boyd was second.
