LOVELADY – The Lovelady, Texas cowboy did enough during the season to capture his first Xtreme Bulls Tour championship.

“It feels good to be the Xtreme Bulls Tour champion,” the 22-year-old Campbell said. “I’m glad I’m able to get this off my bucket list. I just wish I could have finished a little better at the (Finale), but it was still nice to get the (year-end) title. It has been a goal of mine since I was a little kid that once I got to the ProRodeo level I wanted to win everything I could, and this was something at the ProRodeo level I needed to win. I’m glad I got it done.”

With Campbell finishing atop the Xtreme Bulls Tour standings, his biggest Xtreme Bulls win came on Feb. 22 when he won the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Xtreme Bulls with an 89-point ride on 4L & Diamond S Rodeo’s Ferdinand. He added a second-place finish at the Spanish Fork (Utah) Fiesta Days Xtreme Bulls, July 20. “Winning San Antonio was a big one for me, and Spanish Fork also really gave me a boost,” Campbell said.

With the PRCA regular season concluding Sept. 30, Campbell wants to finish strong. Entering the weekend he was third in the world standings.

“I need to stay on next week (at the ProRodeo Tour Finale) in Rapid (City, S.D.) and in Stephenville, Texas, so I can finish as the season leader,” Campbell said.
