Marilyn Virgene Scott

Marilyn Virgene Scott, age 71, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at her residence in Lovelady.  Marilyn was born February 18, 1947 in Hershey, Nebraska, to parents, Jacob Hankins and Rachael Moriarty Hankins.  She was a loving homemaker and a member of the Weldon Baptist Church.

Marilyn is survived by her husband of 52 years, John Scott of Weldon; son, John Michael Scott and wife, Dawn of North Zulch; daughter, Christina Michelle Scott of Weldon; grandchildren, Scotty Michael Scott and fiancé, LeeAnna Shotwell of Houston, Mitchell  Eugene Scott of North Zulch, James Allen Scott of North Zulch, Sophia Marie Scott of North Zulch; brothers, Ralph DeWayne Hankins and wife, Dorothy May of Omaha, NE, Clarence Hankins of Washington State, Jerry Chamberlain and wife, Nancy of Virginia; step-sister, Kitty Chamberlain of Montrose, CO; step-brother, Jay Chamberlain and wife, Karen of Missouri; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jacob Hankins and Rachael Moriarty Hankins; step-mom, Janice Rogers; sons, James Allen Scott, Allen James Scott; daughter, Carol Ann Scott; brother, Everette Hankins; sister, Daphne Dale Chamberlain.

Funeral services were held for Marilyn Virgene Scott on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 10 a.m. in the Weldon Baptist Church with Bro. Jim Brazil and Bro. Chip Parmer officiating. Interment followed in the Houston National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Family received friends for visitation Wednesday, August 8, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the Weldon Baptist Church.
