CROCKETT – Wednesday, Feb. 1 was National Signing Day and three Crockett Bulldogs inked their names to National Letters of Intent to play football at the next level.

Lucky Daniels, Latavian Jones and De’Keidrian Rollins all signed their names on the dotted line to take their talents to Kilgore and play for the Kilgore Rangers.

“This means a lot. It has been a dream all my life that I have wanted to accomplish. I’ve worked hard to achieve every one of my goals and I want to be the best teammate I can possibly be. I want to do my best on and off the field. This really means a lot to me,” Jones said.

When asked why he chose Kilgore College over other schools Jones said he felt he fit in at Kilgore.

Another reason Jones said he chose Kilgore is because of the success other players have had starting out there.

“I know I have a chance to be a better person in football, just be great and take my talents to a D-1 school,” he said.

Jones said he plans to study civil engineering or architecture while at Kilgore.

“This is big. It’s big for me and my family,” Rollins said.

“We’ve been wanting this since I was in diapers. My family helped me decide where I should go and they play a big part in my life. If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be here right now,” he said.

Asked why he chose Kilgore over other schools, Rollins said he liked the environment.

“They welcomed me – like they were already my family,” he said.

Rollins said he planned to study kinesiology and welding while he was at Kilgore College.

“I would tell my teammates that will still be here next year to always keep God first because he will never do you wrong. Keep striving for greatness and be successful in life, Rollins said.

The Bulldogs’ all-time leading receiver – Lucky Daniels – said he was also excited to become a Ranger.

“Signing today is a blessing. I put in a lot of hard work. I want to thank God, my family and all the support I have here in Crockett,” he said.

“I chose Kilgore because they have a good football program and I want to be a part of that. I feel I can help them succeed both in school and on the football field,” he said.

Daniels said after he finishes at Kilgore, he would like to continue playing football at a Division 1 school like the University of Texas.

While at Kilgore, Daniels said he plans to major in kinesiology.
