Joy Philips

Graveside services for Joy Philips age 94 of Houston will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday August 5, 2026 at Evergreen Cemetery in Percilla, with Rev. Tommy Hutto officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey & Foster. 

Mrs. Philips passed away Monday, July 27, 2026 in Houston. She was born September 1, 1931 in Palestine, Texas to Anthem Q. Link and Faye Moore Link. She graduated from Elkhart High School, attended Sam Houston State University, and graduated from University of Houston with her degree in education. She taught school in Pasadena School District, Crockett School District and Grapeland School District. 

She was a member of Lake Baptist Church.

Mrs. Philips was preceded in death by her parents, Anthem Q. Link and Faye Moore Link, husband John N. Philips, sisters, Gwen Collins, Ruth Henderson, and a brother Glenn Link. She is survived by her sons, John Stephen Philips, Michael L. Philips, four grandchildren and three great grandchidren.
