**UPDATED** Homicide in Tadmor

HOUSTON COUNTY – The death of a Lufkin male, found deceased Friday, Feb. 1 in the Tadmor area of Houston County, has been labeled as a homicide, according to the Houston County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim, identified as Cadarius Williams, 24, of Lufkin, was discovered on a rural roadway in the Tadmor community, north of Ratcliff, along FM 227. The HCSO dispatch received a call of a body in the roadway on County Road 1135 around 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1. Upon arrival, deputies located the body and it “… was apparent that Williams was deceased and paramedics confirmed,” according to HCSO Chief Deputy Gary “GP” Shearer.

“Law enforcement officers are still processing the scene and surrounding area for evidence. The victim has been taken to (the) medical examiner for an autopsy,” Shearer said.

The HCSO extended its condolences to the victim’s family and encouraged anyone with any information leading up to Cadarius Williams’ death to contact the Houston County Sheriff’s Office at 936-544-2862 or Crime Stoppers at 936-545-tips (8477).
