Frank Lee “Butch” Lucas

Frank Lee “Butch” Lucas, age 77, of Crockett, passed away January 1, 2019 in the Crockett Medical Center.  Butch was born November 10, 1941 in Crockett to parents, Morris Lucas and Exa Lee Shaw Lucas.

He attended Crockett schools, was chosen Mr. CHS 1959 and graduated from Crockett High School in 1960.  He then attended Stephen F. Austin University and married Pamela McLean on February 8, 1963. Butch worked numerous jobs throughout his life retiring in 2005 after serving 26 years as a rural mail carrier for the Crockett USPS.

After retirement, his greatest joy was spending time with Pam, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Butch had a passion for traveling with Pam and “Trooper” across the United States on their Goldwing and later by motorhome.  He attended Good Shepherd Fellowship, was a past member of the Crockett Evening Lions Club, Crockett Ag Boosters Club, Steward National Rural Letter Carriers Union, Crockett Athletic Booster Club, Crockett Volunteer Fire Department.

Butch is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pam Lucas of Crockett; sons; Frank Lee Lucas, Jr. of San Antonio, Scott Elliott Lucas and wife, Jean of Bullard; brother, Larry S. Lucas and wife, Stacy of Diboll; grandchildren, Chase Lucas of Crockett, Bryce Lucas of Austin, Casey Chesney and husband, Gunner of League City, Kaitlyn Lucas and Brayden Lucas of Bullard; great-grandchildren, Addison Lucas of Latexo, Connor Lucas of Grapeland; aunt, Hesta Faye Bobbitt of Crockett; a niece, two nephews, their families and other relatives; and his new fur friend, “Smokey”.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Exa Lee Lucas; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George Elliott and Syd McLean; very special fur friend “Trooper”.

Memorial services were held for Frank Lee “Butch” Lucas Friday, January 4, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel.  Family received friends for visitation from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, P.O.
