Calvin Lewis Brown Jr.

Mr. Calvin Lewis Brown, Jr. (54) of Latexo, was the second child born to Calvin Lewis Brown, Sr. and Edna L. Cook.

He was raised in Ripley Tennessee and also attended school there. He relocated to Texas and married Tammy Mettlen of Latexo on November 17, 1985. Calvin supported his family through work as a painter and carpenter.

Calvin transitioned August 21, 2017 at Palestine Regional Medical Center in Palestine, TX.

He is preceded in death by both parents, Clvin Brown Sr. and Edna L. Cook; sister Patsey Ann Brown, mother-in-law Joyce L. Hughes; and brother-in-law Timothy Wayne Hughes. Left to cherish his memories is wife Tammy Mettlen of Latexo; son Jeremiah and Megan of Latexo; daughter Angela Mettlen and Chris Mead of Latexo; father-in-law Vernon Wayne Hughes of Latexo; aunts Ruby Louis, and Bertha Louis of Ripley, TN; uncles Pete Louis and James Louis of Ripley, TN; five grandkids, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and family.

Memorial services for Calvin Brown were held Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 4 p.m. at Truly Gods Cowboy Church, Grapeland, Texas

Arrangements were under the direction of Walker & Walker Funeral Home.
