District 20-2A Girls’ All District Selections Released

GRAPELAND – With the conclusion of the 2016-2017 season for the girls’ basketball teams out of District 20-2A, the All-District picks for District 20-2A were released.

Selected as Co-Coaches of the year were Grapeland Sandies’ Head Coach Anthony DeCello and Centerville Lady Tigers Head Coach Rick Dickson.

KeKe Harris

The MVP of the district was Grapeland Sandiette Hannah Chipman.

The Offensive MVP of District 20-2A was Centerville Lady Tiger Sarah Stutzman.

The Defensive MVP of District 20-2A was Grapeland Sandiette Ragan Bowie.

The Co-Newcomers of the Year in District 20-2A were Grapeland Sandiette KeKe Harris and Lovelady Lady Lion Kaiden LeMaire.

The First Team All-District Selections for District 20-2A were Grapeland Sandiettes Tatiyanna Bowie and Kenya Woods.

Lovelady Lady Lions Hannah Burleson and Emily McClure were also selected to the First Team squad.

Centerville Lady Tigers Raylynn Brewer, Tori Tollett and Brittany West were also selected for First Team honors.

The Big Sandy Lady Wildcats’ Taylor Battise also received First Team All-District recognition.

The Second Team All-District selections for District 20-2A included: Grapeland Sandiette DeDe McKnight; Latexo Lady Tigers Baylee Granberry and Cinderella Rice-Huff; Lovelady Lady Lions Madelyn James and Jala Rollo; Big Sandy Lady Wildcat Charity Battise; Centerville Lady Tiger Makayla Neubauer; and Groveton Lady Indian Hannah Antley.

The Messenger would like to extend its congratulations to all the young ladies on the list for a very enjoyable 2016-2017 basketball season and for a job well done.
