Tractor recovered

ANDERSON COUNTY – A backhoe valued at $50,000 was recovered after it was stolen from an Anderson County residence, but the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the theft.

At 10 a.m.Saturday, Jan. 21, ACSO Deputy Suzanne Wesson was dispatched to the 4600 block of ACR 336 in reference to a stolen tractor, according to a report from ACSO Chief Deputy Troy Black. Wesson was told a model #416E Caterpillar backhoe with front loader had been taken from that location.

The backhoe was entered in the Texas Crime Information Center/ National Crime Information Center database as stolen. On Monday, Jan. 23, Anderson County dispatch

was contacted by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, who said Cherokee County deputies had located the stolen backhoe in front of an abandoned house.

The owner was contacted and the backhoe was returned.
