Edward Bryan Willis
Edward Bryan Willis, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully at home on September 6, 2026 at the age of 84.
Born on February 28, 1942 in Houston, Bryan lived a life marked by courage, dedication, love, and service to others. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964, attaining the rank of Airman Second Class E3. During his military career, Bryan served as an Air traffic Control and ground operation communications and served across the world in many different countries, France being his most talked about. He was honorably discharged in 1964.
Bryan carried the values learned through military service—integrity, loyalty, discipline, and commitment—throughout the rest of his life. Beyond the uniform, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who treasured time with family and friends.
Bryan started electrician school shortly after being discharged from the United States Air Force. He joined the IBEW Union and retired in 1999. He was a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. He was a member of the American Legion Post Number 0134. He was a proud member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Crockett, Texas.
Bryan will be remembered for his generosity, faith, love of his family and helping his community. He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, dominos, and baseball.
Bryan is survived by his wife of 61 years Linda Faye Starkey Willis; sister Linda Ann and husband David Waller, brother Larry and wife Pam Willis; his daughter Stephanie and husband Robert Verner, his son Jeff and wife Stephanie Willis; grandchildren Ashlie and husband Greg Jackson, Elizabeth and husband Kash Ousley, Carmen and husband Logan Cooley, and Mason Verner and Ellis Verner; great-grandchildren Alaina, Kayla, Brenton, Weston, Stetson and Blakelee. He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Ruby Willis and in-laws Harold “Shorty” and Louise Starkey.
Visitation for Edward Bryan Willis will be held at Bailey and Foster Funeral Home Chapel in Grapeland, Texas on Friday September 11, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held the following day Saturday September 12, 2026 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Thomas St. Jean officiating.
Interment will follow at Guiceland Cemetery in Grapeland, Texas.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Randy Teets, Jerry Hartenberger, Kash Ousley, Delbert Griffith, Logan Cooley, Richard Willis, Mark Waller and Justin Cheatham. Honorary pallbearers Anthony Villanueva, Mike Waller, David Paul Waller, Matthew Willis and Jason Villanueva.
