Clydene Stroud Young Holmes

Clydene Stroud Young Holmes, age 92, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2026 in LaMarque. Clydene was born June 1, 1934 in Cushman, Arkansas to parents, Clyde Stroud and Nellie Kimmer Stroud. She was reared in Arkansas and started working at a young age to support her family. Clydene graduated from high school at the age of 16, then moved to Washington DC where she began working for the FBI until starting her family. Later in life, she became a financial advisor working with Modern Woodmen, having over 2500 clients in Houston County. Clydene enjoyed her plants, flowers, baking, traveling and mostly, loved her family always looking forward to spending time with them.

Clydene is survived by her children, John Young and wife, Carol, Janis Morgan Bristow, Russell Young and wife, Terry, Alice Stenstadvold and husband, Ken; grandchildren, Tyler, Kelly, Jonathan, Ryan, Lindsay, Shelley, Brad, Josh, Sarah, Matthew and Paul; several great-grandchildren; and close companion, Robert Schenck. She was preceded in death by parents, Clyde and Nellie Stroud; granddaughter, Paige Young; brother, Carthel Stroud.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at the Lovelady First Baptist Church. Interment to follow at Lovelady Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.
