Finis Edward “Penny” Hamlin
Finis Edward “Penny” Hamlin, age 75, of Crockett passed away November 22, 2016. He was born April 30, 1941 in Crockett to parents, Nolan Edward and Laverne Smith Hamlin. Penny was an avid card player and a truck driver who played dominos daily and poker at least twice a week. He drove his beloved Peterbilt up to the very end.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Gale Hamlin of Crockett; children, Amy Baker and husband, Mike of Pea Ridge, AR, Brian Shupak and wife, Stacey of Lovelady, Marla Johnson of Huntsville, Jason Hamlin of Crockett, and Rachel Hamlin of Crockett; grandchildren, Ivan Worley and wife, Ali of Rogers, AR, Will Worley of Pea Ridge, AR, Amber Beard of Glasgow, Scotland, James Dillon Shupak of Lovelady, Jaxson Reeves of Lovelady, Joseph Johnson and wife, Amy of Bauxite, AR, and James Johnson of The Woodlands; great-grandchildren, Tyler Adkins of Bauxite, AR, Joey Teagan Johnson of Walden, NY, Farrah Gayle Johnson of Walden, NY, Luke Johnson of Bauxite, AR, Skylar Johnson of The Woodlands, Jazlynn Williams of Crockett, and Aurora Worley of Roger, AR; brothers, Ray Hamlin of Bryan, Curtis Hamlin and wife, Margie of Crockett; sister, Glenda Dowell and husband, Shorty of Crockett; special friends, Danny Harber of Percilla and Tommy Sullivan of Grapeland; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Noland and Laverne Hamlin; grandson, Brian Dalton Shupak; brother, Joe Frank Hamlin; Mother and Father-In-Law, Mary and Chester Gale.
Funeral services for Finis Edward “Penny” Hamlin will be held Friday, November 25, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ottis Byers officiating. Interment will follow in the Augusta Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. prior to service.
