Houston County Home and Garden Fair Accepting Entries

HOUSTON COUNTY –  Houston County Home and Garden Fair is accepting entries for this year’s Houston County Fair and Youth Livestock Show, scheduled for March 30 – April 6. As usual, the entries will be on display at the Crockett Civic Center and will be judged for awards.

Joanie Payne sent information to The Messenger, asking for entries to be submitted between now and March 1:

“Houston County, Home & Garden Fair entry forms are now being accepted at the Houston County Extension Office, located in the Senior Citizen’s Center at 716 Wells Street, Crockett. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to noon, and 1-4:30 p.m. Entry forms are available onsite or on the Houston County Fair & Youth Livestock Show Inc. Facebook® page.

The deadline for entries is Friday, March 1 at 4:30 p.m. 

The Home & Garden Fair is part of the Houston County Fair & Youth Livestock Show, scheduled for Saturday, March 30 through Saturday, April 6. The Civic Center will be open for public viewing from 3:30-6 p.m. Tuesday, April 2 and 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday, April 3-4.  All Youth Best of Show Winners will sell in the Sale of Champions on Saturday, April 6 at 1 p.m. in the Porth Ag Arena.

Changes and updates have been made to the Home & Garden Rules and schedule. An updated rule book, entry forms and project forms may be found on the Houston Country Fair Facebook® page or at the Houston County Extension Office.
