Donna Joyce Skelly Baker

A memorial service for Donna Joyce Baker, 85 of Crockett, were held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 28, 2023 at First United Methodist Church in Grapeland with Rev. Wade Harman officiating.

Mrs. Baker passed away Thursday, January 19, 2023 in Crockett. She was born April 5, 1937 to Louis F. Skelley III and Evelyn Oyce Skelley in Houston, TX.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Grapeland.

She attended San Jacinto High School where she was a Baton Twirler in the marching band of San Jacinto High School. After graduating High School, She married Hugh Baker, the love of her life. Soon after they had their children Mike Baker, Karen Baker (Carlton), and Peggy Baker (Keep).  Donna was a housewife for many years and became a Realtor in 1975 retiring in 2018 when she was 81 years old. The Bakers moved to the “farm” in 1999 for the remainder of their years. Donna enjoyed gardening, gathering eggs from the chicken house, her church family and visits from her relatives.

Mrs. Baker is survived by her children: Mike R Baker (Lisa), Karen J. Carlton (Kenny) and Peggy J. Keep (Travis); grandchildren: K. C. Carlton (Eileen), Justin Carlton (Amanda), Jacob Carlton, Daniel Baker (Brandy), Stephen Baker (Elizabeth), Kayla Altizer, and Keylee Altizer; and great grandchildren: Avery Carlton, Brystal Carlton, , Jasper Carlton and Molly Carlton and numerous step great grand children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hugh, her brother, Ted Skelley, and grandson Eddie Кеер.
