Signs of Life

CROCKETT – The journey has been long and somewhat bumpy for the only hospital in Houston County. For a while, its status has been somewhat touch-and-go. From ETMC to CHC to HCMC to Timberlands, the hospital has hung on for dear life.

While it has been closed for nearly a year, two doctors (along with a silent partner) from Austin have found a pulse in the medical facility and have worked feverishly alongside the Houston County Hospital Board of Directors to keep it alive.

The treatment seems to be working as plans to re-open the hospital in August of this year are on schedule and to resume operations under the name of Crockett Medical Center (CMC).

According to a statement from CMC CEO Jeff Perry, “A tremendous amount of work and great progress continues at Crockett Medical Center.  The hospital founders and staff are focused on providing the best possible healthcare services and patient experience.”

He added, “We are excited to share these significant updates in our development of a healthcare environment that you will be proud to call ‘Your Healthcare Home.’”

In regard to the clinic, Perry stated the Crockett Medical Center Clinic will begin providing care at the same clinic location (1050 East Loop 304, Crockett, Texas 75835) – next to the hospital – beginning June 4.

Several reassurances were also provided to current and future parents. Among these were:

  • There will be no interruption in care for existing clinic patients.
  • Follow-up appointments will continue as scheduled.
  • Walk-in clinic visits will continue to be available.
  • Natalie Bachynsky, NP will continue to provide care for our community as a vital part of the Crockett Medical Center Clinic team and additional providers will be joining soon.
  • We are open to meet your healthcare needs. Please call to schedule an appointment (936-544-5132).

Concerning the hospital, the statement indicated “… hospital services for our community will begin operations in August 2018.  These services will include an emergency department, inpatient unit, radiology and a laboratory with much more to come.”

The hospital is now hiring and seeks “… highly qualified candidates who are passionate about delivering only the best in healthcare and customer service.”

To apply for these positions, visit the hospital’s website at www.crockettmedicalcenter.com.

“We are excited and look forward to serving all the citizens of Houston County and the surrounding area.  We ask and thank you for your continued support.  Together we can bring to our community the much needed and absolute best possible healthcare!” Perry concluded.
