Boys’ Bi-District Playoffs Tip-Off

EAST TEXAS – Now is when the real fun begins as the 2019 Boys’ UIL Basketball Tournament has tipped off with first round action.

Districts 19-2A and 20-2A hooked up for Bi-District contests on Monday and Tuesday. Monday saw the Grapeland Sandies destroy the Italy Gladiators by a score of 78-32. Cross Roads slipped into the second spot from District 19-2A and tangled with the Slocum Mustangs on Tuesday.

The Lovelady Lions squared off on Tuesday against the Cayuga Wildcats and the Kerens Bobcats also played the Groveton Indians on Tuesday. The scores of all Tuesday night games were unavailable as of press time.

In District 20-3A, Crockett took on Rogers while Teague played Cameron Yoe. Buffalo tipped off against Franklin and the Elkhart Elks faced the Little River Academy Bumblebees. All games were scheduled for Tuesday and the scores were unavailable as of press time.

Moving to the Class 4A level, the District 19-4A and 20-4A matchups saw the Palestine Wildcats take on the Jasper Bulldogs while the Fairfield Eagles took on the Huntington Red Devils. Mexia faced off against Hudson and Madisonville tipped off against Carthage. All games were scheduled for Tuesday and the scores were unavailable as of press time.

Changing to Region IV and dropping down to Class 1A, in District 28-1A, LaPoynor had a first round bye, while Neches took on Trinidad and Oakwood faced off against Milford. All games were scheduled for Tuesday and the scores were unavailable as of press time.
