Anita Catherene Sowell

Anita Catherene Sowell, age 86, passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, March 9, 2018 in Porter Springs.  Anita was born November 24, 1931 in China Springs, Texas to parents, George Daniel Lantrip and Anna Ruby Garrett Lantrip.  She was a teacher’s aide for 36 years in the Pasadena ISD and also was an interpreter for the deaf.  Anita attended the Manvel Bible Chapel in Manvel prior to becoming a member of the First Christian Church in Crockett.

Anita is survived by her daughters, Geneva Ford and husband, Erin of Porter Springs, Diana Selby and husband, Mike of Alvin, Donna Welborn and husband, Ron of Cameron; sons, Charlie Sowell and wife, Emmy of Corsicana, Gary Sowell of Corsicana; grandchildren, Tara Etheredge and husband, Luke, Matt Selby and wife, Laura, Leigh Erin Siber and husband, Kirk, Mark Selby and wife, Meghan, Kaitlin Sucher and husband, Wesley, April Cereijo and husband, Jorge, Colton Sowell and wife, Taylor, Paige Welborn, Devin Sowell; great-grandchildren, Margaret, Abigail, Nathaniel, Olivia, Gabriel, Luke, Grace, Jorge III, Marie, Neil, Hudson, Violet, Caroline, Cooper; sister, Ruby Crenshaw of Crawford; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.  She was preceded in death by father, George Daniel Lantrip; mother, Anna Ruby Garrett Lantrip; brothers, Tommy Lantrip, L. D. Lantrip, Aubrey Lantrip.

Funeral services for Anita Catherene Sowell were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2018 in the First Christian Church, Crockett, with Dr. Tim Allen officiating.  Graveside services followed at 2:30 p.m. in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Houston.  Family received friends at 9 a.m. prior to service.
