Bobbie Jean Dickson Reed

Bobbie Jean Dickson Reed was born November 9, 1947 to the late Robert Lee Dickson Jr. and Johnnie Mae Walker Dickson in Grapeland, Texas.  At an early age of 8 she accepted Christ and was baptized and joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Grapeland, Texas.  She later moved to Dallas and became a member of Rose Chapel Baptist Church.  Later, she became a member of the Church At Nineveh founded by her sister Dr. Angie L. Dickson, where she was and still attended at the time of her death and her son Andra Reed  is the Pastor.

She married William Joseph Reed and to this union two sons were born, Joseph Trudale Reed and Andra Deon Reed.  Joseph proceeded her in death.

She graduated High School from W. R. Banks High School and moved to Dallas where she graduated from Bishop College.  She received a Bachelor in elementary education with a teaching certificate along with a master degree in math and science.  She taught school in the Dallas School District.  Later she worked 17 years at Crum & Foster Insurance Company as an accountant.  She worked 23 years at AT&T where she retired as a coordinator on her birthday November 9, 2017.

Since year 1999 she song with the Golden Girls of Dallas, Texas.

She departed this earthly life January 31, 2018 at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Dallas, Texas joining her  parents (Robert and Johnnie M. Dickson), two brothers (Clearance L. Dickson and John L. Dickson), one sister ( Dr. Angie L. Dickson), and son (Joseph T. Reed).

She leaves to mourn one son, Andra Reed of Dallas, Texas, three grandchildren (China Reed, Courtney Reed, and Joshua Reed of Dallas, Texas, three sisters, Robbie Dickson of Dallas,  Maryan Green of Little Elm, Texas and Maloyce Dickson (Danny) of Dallas, Texas ,one daughter-in-law, Zerlina Reed, and mother-in-law, Elvena Duffie, three sister-in-laws, Deborah Griffin,  Linda Dickson, and Bettye Dickson,  five nephews Malcolm Dickson, Patrick Crowder (Rashunda), Darryl LuKnotley, Calvin Evans II and Calvin Evans III. Four nieces, Armelia Evans (Calvin), Tara Dickson, and Bridgett Baker, Kennedy Evans, and a host of great nieces & nephews relatives, and friends.

Services were held Saturday February 10, 2018, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Grapeland, Texas, and she was laid to rest at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Ceremony, Grapeland, Texas. To sign the guest book visit walkerandwalkerfh.com Walker & Walker Funeral Home
