Services for June Shaver Musick age 83 of Grapeland will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, January 8, 2018 at Bailey & Foster Chapel, Grapeland with Glen Schmucker officiating. Burial will follow in Parker Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey & Foster.
June Brown Shaver Musick passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on Friday January 5, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on June 1, 1934 to Burles Henry Brown and Allie Nora Smith Brown in Grapeland, TX.
She held strongly to her faith as a follower of Jesus Christ. She retired from Arlington ISD where she worked as a secretary.
She and her husband, Wayland Shaver left a legacy of love, devotion, and faith to their three children and their families. She married Wayland Shaver on June 12, 1954 and lived happily and faithfully with him until his passing in 1998.
After Wayland’s passing she reconnected with a childhood friend Joe Musick and married him on April 28, 2001. She and Joe were members of Sunset Christian Church in Grapeland.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Burles Henry Brown and Allie Nora Smith Brown, her loving husbands, Wayland Everett Shaver and Joe Musick, her brothers, Harvel Brown, Lloyd “Pete” Brown, Hill Brown and Jack Brown, her sisters, Aoma Montgomery, Alva Lee Wright, and Aileen Huff, and a son-in-law Scott Bain. She is survived by her children, David Shaver and wife Tresea of Azle, Annette Ham and husband Stewart of Sulphur Springs, Todd Shaver and wife Barbara of Euless, grandchildren, Justin Shaver and wife Kayla, Jesse Shaver, Amy Hixson, and husband John, Cody Bain and wife Audrey, Sara Shaver, Ty Shaver, and Erika Shaver and six great grandsons, a sister Jean Starkey as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and family. She is also survived by her step-daughter Kim Hassell, step-son Joe Paul Musick and wife Mala, step-grandchildren Hayley and Jared Kendrick, and Will J. Musick, and two step great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Kendrick and Case Kendrick.
Pallbearers will be Don Starkey, Mark Huff, Darrell Brown, Billy McKinney, Jerald Montgomery and Jerry Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Wyman Brown, Clyde McKinney, and Henry Brown.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Bailey & Foster Chapel, Grapeland.
