Nell Ray Bitner

Nell Ray Bitner, age 87, of Lovelady passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017 in Huntsville. She was born September 22, 1930 in Blue Ridge, Collins County, Texas to parents, Bennie James Brown and Bessie Jane McGahee. Nell was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lovelady and a Sunday School Secretary.

She is survived by her children, Linda James and husband, Tommy of Lovelady, Janie Collier and husband, Calvin of Lovelady, Randy Bitner and wife, Elaine of Lone Pine, and James Bitner and wife, Sharon of Lovelady; grandchildren, Michael James and wife, Shanna of Lovelady, Kim Smith of Lovelady, Molly Abele and husband, Justin of Lufkin, Jesse Collier of Lovelady, Travis Bitner and wife, Kristen of Lovelady, Jacob Bitner of Lovelady and Brent Bitner of Lovelady; great-grandchildren, Madelyn James, Cody James, Douglas Brumble, Christopher Thomason, Brayden Abele, Amelia Abele, Hydee Huse, and Ross Bitner; great-great-grandchildren, Colt Thomason, Kaydence Brumble, and Jasper Brumble; two foster brothers, Larry Shupak and wife, Barbara of Lovelady and Rex Shupak of Lovelady; very special neighbor and friend, William Money; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bitner; parents, Bennie and Bessie Brown; foster parents, Leo and Lorena Shupak; brothers, Chester Brown and James R. Brown; sisters, Beaulah Shupak and Margene Williamson.

Funeral services for Nell Ray Bitner were held Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 10 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Lovelady. Interment followed in the Center Hill Cemetery. The family received friends Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Callaway-Allee Funeral Home.
