Bill Grove

Bill Grove, age 96, of Crockett passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017 in the Huntsville Memorial Hospital.  Bill was February 20, 1921 in Tacoma,Washington to parents, Roy F. Grove and Lillian Aresta McElroy Grove.  He joined the CCC at the age of 15 and afterwards went to work in Houston as a City Bus Driver and shipyard worker.  He joined the United States Navy serving his country in World War II.  Later Bill became a member of the VFW, American Legion and also was Past Grand of the Independent Order of Oddfellows.  After the war, he worked for 32 years for Shell Oil Company in Deer Park retiring as Refinery Supervisor in 1980.

 Bill is survived by step-daughter, Elanya Sue Adams and husband, Larry of Lovelady; step-sons, Woodrow Wilson McDaniel and wife, Linda of Cypress, Joe Kirk McDaniel and wife, Gina of Lovelady, William Ralph McDaniel and wife, Judy of Katy; very special friend, Yvonne Thomas of Crockett; numerous other loving relatives.  He was preceded in death by wives, Ruth Grove, Elaine Grove and Doris Grove.Funeral services for Bill Grove were held Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel.
