Norma Jean Brown Self
Norma Jean Brown Self, age 72, of Trinity, passed away July 6, 2017 in the Winfield Nursing Center. Norma was born January 29, 1945 in Conroe to parents, Jacob H. Pittman and Norris Marguerite Long Pittman. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Norma dedicated her whole life to her family, her children and grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and loved making others happy. Some of her favorite hobbies were crafting, fishing, and playing bingo. Norma took pride in her home and had a special green thumb for growing beautiful plants and flowers. She loved her precious fur baby, Sweets and he was her little sidekick. Her precious smile and gentle spirit will live on through her legacy.
Norma is survived by husband, R. L. “Yoggie” Self of Trinity; children, Cheryl Freeman and husband, Donnie of Oakwood, Travis Brown and wife, Patricia of Huntsville, Royce Brown of Montgomery, Alisha Biedrzycki and husband, Mike of Oakwood; grandchildren, Jacob Freeman, Logan Biedrzycki, Michael Biedrzycki; sister, Jacqueline Childers of Conroe; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by parents, Jake and Margie Pittman and sister, Wanda June Burks.
Funeral services for Norma Jean Brown Self will be held Monday, July 10, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Marty Ballesteros officiating. Interment will follow in the New Energy Cemetery. Family will receive friends for visitation Sunday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Winfield Nursing Center Rehab and Activity Department, 1108 East Loop 304, Crockett, TX 75835.
