Betty Jim Nettles Hester

Betty Jim Nettles Hester, age 94, of Crockett passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 in Crockett. She was born June 5, 1922 in Houston County to parents, Bill Nettles and Emma Erwin Nettles. She was a member of the Sunshine Gospel Singers and the Good Shepherd Fellowship Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Diann Parker of Richwood; daughter-in-law, Wende Hester of Jones Creek; grandchildren, Sean Hester and wife, Traci of Groves, Stacie Dull and husband, Chad of Lake Jackson, Tim Hester and wife, Julie of Brazoria, Troy Hester of LaGrange, Kentucky, Gayla Parker and husband, Verlon of West Columbia, Candy Bond and husband, Darryl of Richwood, and Dana Roundtree and husband, Trent of Angelton; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Lorene Wright of Crockett, Brenda Coleman and husband, Jim of Crockett, Linda Tullos and husband, Ron of Hideaway; brother, Donald Nettles and wife, Barbara of Austonio; sister-in-law, Dorothy Nettles of Coldspring; and numerous other loving relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by husband, Albert Hester in 1987; son, Sherrell A. Hester in 2016; sisters, Wilma Vaden and Elizabeth Foster; and brother, Billy Kenneth Nettles.

Funeral services for Betty Hester will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ottis Byers officiating. Interment to follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
