John Raymond Gray

John Raymond Gray, age 53, of Lovelady passed away February 18, 2017 in Crockett. He was born February 18, 1964 in Morgan City, LA. John was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during Desert Storm and Desert Shield, a member and past Worshipful Master of the Masonic Lodge #539 of Lovelady and was employed as a sergeant by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and worked there for 12 years. John loved horses and barbeque.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Rebekah Gray of Lovelady; children, Laneva Wishon of Lovelady, Jacob Gray and wife, Guretta of Bosier City, LA, and Gideon Gray and wife, Christina of San Antonio; grandchildren, Simuel Gray of Lovelady, Blake Dumas of Trinity, Hayden Dumas of Trinity, Mason Dumas of Trinity, Megan Roark of Lovelady, Xylie Gray of Bosier City, LA, and Destinee Gray of San Antonio; brother, Joseph Gray of Lovelady; sister, Janice Young of Roswell, NM; father-in-law, Jerry Wishon of Dalhart; and brothers-in-law, Matthew Wishon of Bakersfield, CA and Issac Wishon of Dalhart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carolyn Young and Charles Gray; grandchild, Karleigh Gray, and uncle, Vernon “PeeWee” Patrick.

Memorial services for John Raymond Gray will be held Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 10 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Lovelady with Ben Jeffries, Jacob Gray and Dan Erick officiating.

The family will receive friends for visitation Friday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Callaway-Allee Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions to help with funeral expenses.
