Johnny Merriwether

Johnny Merriwether, age 68, of Porter Springs passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017. He was born August 12, 1948 in Crockett to parents, John Willis Merriwether and Faye McCurdy Merriwether.

He was a 1967 Crockett High School graduate and a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam Era. Johnny was a member and deacon of the Porter Springs Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy Merriwether of Porter Springs; children, Todd Merriwether of Lovelady, Jamie Robinson of Crockett, and Ashley Merriwether of Porter Springs; grandchildren, Kristin Merriwether, Madison Robinson, Case Robinson, Charley Ann Merriwether, J.T. Merriwether, Cole Merriwether, and Brody Soliz; great-grandson, Collin Carlton; sister, Georganna Bozeman and husband, Paul of Crockett; sister-in-law, Brenda Pepin of Jacksonville; and numerous other loving relatives and friends.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, John and Faye Merriwether; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ennis and Mildred Bolton.

Memorial services for Johnny Merriwether will be held Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jim Tom Ainsworth and Rev. Chad Lawson officiating.
