Kathleen Smith

Kathleen Smith, age 68, of Kennard passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017 in Lufkin. She was born January 24, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri to Thelmer Bee Currie and Claudine Dorothy Zoller Currie.

Kathleen was an active member of Community Full Gospel Church in Kennard since 1989. She loved crocheting and her family.

She is survived by children, Elizabeth Wersebe and husband, Kent of Lufkin, Jerry Durrett and wife, DeAnna of Galveston, Earl Wayne Durrett of Kennard, Carolyn Silva and husband, Cayetano of Sugarland, Carla Hensley and husband, Ken of Conroe, Christie May and husband, Drew of Mt. Enterprise, Brandon Smith and wife, Hollie of Lovelady; fifteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Philip Currie and wife, Vicki of Lufkin, Andrew Currie of Corrigan; numerous other loving relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by husband, Tommy Smith; grandchild, Ashton Glover; parents, Thelmer “Bear” and Claudine Currie; and sister, Pam Steel.

Interment was held in the Jim English cemetery.
