Mitchell Ray Tutor

Mitchell Ray Tutor, age 83, of Grapeland passed away December 10, 2016 in Tyler. He was born January 4, 1933 in Fort Worth to parents, Jessie Mitchell Tutor and Velma Rubush Tutor.

Mitchell retired from the oilfield industry as a chief code estimator.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy Air Corp and a member of the Grace Street Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sylvia Tutor of Grapeland; sons, Mitchell Kevin Tutor and wife, An Chen of Palo Alto, CA, Larry Tutor and wife, Diane of Chatsworth, CA, Terry Tutor and wife, Julia of Canoga Park, CA, and Keith Tutor and wife, Christine of Austin; grandchildren, Lincoln Tutor of Palo Alto, CA, Franklin Tutor of Palo Alto, CA, Christopher Tutor of Palo Alto, CA, William Tutor of Canoga Park, CA, Theodore Tutor of Austin, Avery Tutor of Austin, and Arden Tutor of Austin; sisters, Betty Brock of Houston, Frances Powell of Crosby, and Mitzi Hester of Houston; brothers-in-law, Buell Anderson of Katy, Benny Anderson of The Woodlands, Glenn Anderson of Apple Springs, and Lynn Anderson of Crosby; sisters-in-law, Oleta Railsback of Houston and June Caddenhead of Kennard; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Mitchell Tutor and Velma Rubush Tutor; brothers-in-law, Wayne Brock, Milton Powell and Edgar Hester.

Funeral services for Mitchell Ray Tutor will be held Saturday December 17, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Mr. Gary Taylor officiating.

Interment will follow in the Livelyville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Callaway-Allee Funeral Home.
