OLA BETH SHERMAN

At 4:03 PM, 2016 Ola Beth Sherman met her appointed time and departed to be with the Lord Jesus in Paradise. Monday September 19th, on her 90th birthday her body will be laid to rest. Beth is survived by her daughter Vicki McClosky and husband David of Grapeland, her great grandchild Kai McClosky, her son Richard Tunstall of Baytown, her grandchildren Ryan McClosky of Grapeland, Kate McClosky of Baytown, Marshall Tunstall of Bethesda, Maryland, Matthew Tunstall of Baytown, and Vanessa Tunstall of Baytown. On September 19th of 1926, Ola Beth Platt was born to Judge James Hardy Platt and Minnie Ola (Barnes) in Lovelady, Texas as the 12th of their 13 children. She leaves a legacy of relatives too numerous to mention, and her beloved caregivers. Beth was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Crockett most of her life.

After World War II she married Bobby Tunstall of Crockett. They established their marriage in Crockett where Bobby worked with his dad in piano sales, but also opened a restaurant on the town square. Together they ventured to numerous cities in Texas. In 1971, in Midland, Bobby was called home to the Lord. Soon Beth moved back to Crockett where eventually she married Lieutenant Colonel Tom David Sherman who had lost his wife to cancer. They established their home in Crockett, enjoying a loving marriage until the Lord carried Tom David home. Remaining in Crockett, Beth continued as the matriarch, providing her family with a loving home.

Beth Sherman loved unconditionally. She reaped a harvest of love from friends and relatives. Faithfully, when prompted by the Holy Spirit, she shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Funeral service for Ola Beth Sherman were held 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 19, 2016 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel. Interment to follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Crockett. The family will received visitors 10:00 a.m. Monday at Callaway-Allee Funeral Home.
