PALESTINE – It’s that time again, Homecoming Week began Monday, Sept. 12 and Friday, Sept. 16 is the Homecoming game and Crowning of the Royalty.
The pace at PHS is frenetic as everyone scrambles to get the preparations completed for the big day.
The band, the football team, the Kik-Kat Drill team, the teachers, staff and various clubs get to school early, stay late and while the days are endless, all eyes are on Friday’s big party.
This year’s Homecoming Senior Nominees were Jake Neal, Jhamonte Milton, Stetson Herod, Kadarius Spurlock, Manny Romero, Piper Elrod, Summer Hagen, Valerie Rangel, Anna Yeakey, Sloan Cox, Monica Attaway, Lucas Shealey, Abraham Vasques, Luis Zavala, Jesus Adame, Irric Deyon, Allan Marquez, Lauryn James, Victoria Gallina, Stevie Ybarra, Shanna Avila and Olivia Cone.
The Dukes and Duchesses chosen by their peers are Sophomores Goldie Barnard and Tyler Gray, Juniors Aspen Williams and Kameron Hamilton and Freshmen Jennifer Aguilar and Quentin Cook.
These Palestine High School students proudly represent their classes and will be presented to the crowd during Friday’s Homecoming Ceremony at 7:00 p.m.
Monday’s parade and tailgate party were proved the Palestine High School spirit as it seemed every student in the school, parents and at least two-thirds of the community showed up at the pep-rally to cheer the Wildcats on and brace them up for the upcoming Friday night game.
The Wildcats will play the Van Vandals at 7:30 p.m. at the Wildcat Stadium, but don’t miss the pre-show. The Homecoming Court and King and Queen will strut their royal crowns after the ceremony.
The halftime show will be all about the honor. The State Champion Soccer team will be awarded their rings.
The band and drill teams will perform during half-time. Tickets are $6.00 at the gate for all seating, students only $3.00.
You do not want to miss this!
