ELKHART – Elkhart Lady Elk and recent EHS graduate Ashley Buck has been selected to the Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) Class AAA All-State Track and Field team, according to a TGCA press release received Thursday, June 1.

According to the media statement, “The Texas Girls Coaches Association selects All-State teams in track and field for conferences 1A-6A.  Athletes are selected by the TGCA Track and Field All-State Committee at their annual meeting during the UIL State Meet.  Athletes are nominated by member coaches.  The head varsity coach must be a member of TGCA in good standing to be eligible to nominate athletes or receive honors. Up to 40 athletes may be selected per conference.”

Buck finished in fourth place at the 2017 UIL Class AAA State Track and Field Meet held last month. Buck also qualified for the state meet in the triple jump as a sophomore and a junior and finished in fourth place both years.
