Wreck Sends One to Hospital

US Hwy 287 Closed Briefly

GRAPELAND – A two-vehicle wreck on US Hwy. 287 sent one person to the hospital and briefly closed the roadway on Monday, May 13.

Shortly before 2 pm, first responders were dispatched to a location approximately one-half mile outside of the Grapeland city limits. When the emergency personnel arrived, they observed a gray sedan and a white Ford work truck blocking the southbound lane.

Law enforcement personnel at the scene speculated the driver of the sedan appeared to have clipped the rear driver’s side part of the truck.

The driver of the sedan was taken to an area hospital for treatment of her injuries while the driver and passenger of the truck appeared to be uninjured. The injuries sustained by the sedan driver did not appear to be life-threatening.

Currently, no further information is available. The incident is still under investigation.
