Bonnie Kay Satterlee
Bonnie Kay Satterlee, age 76, of Arlington, TX, died on July 26, 2026, while receiving hospice care.
Born February 17, 1950 in Gilmer, TX, Bonnie lost her father at age 5 to mental illness (likely post-WWII PTSD) and eventual suicide. Over the next few years, she and her three brothers were abandoned by their mother, leaving them wards of the State of Texas. Her two younger brothers were soon adopted, whereas she and her older brother, Clint, found stability and love at Burnett-Bayland Home for Children in Houston, TX.
When Bonnie was 10 years old and Clint 12, they were adopted by Price Winton and Mattie Florene (Welsh) Lawrence and welcomed lovingly into their extended families. They lived in Spring Branch, TX, where Bonnie and Clint were baptized at the First Baptist Church, becoming members of its active youth fellowship ministry. After graduating from Spring Woods High School, Bonnie attended Houston Baptist University, where she obtained her BSN. She later obtained her MSN at UT Arlington. Bonnie lived the remainder of her life in Arlington, practicing nursing and rising in the administrative ranks of various healthcare systems.
Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Stacie Kay Wylie, of Arlington; brothers, Dr. E. Clinton Lawrence (Deborah Marlowe), Atlanta, GA, and Dennis Sowell (Ann), Trinity, TX; nephews, Bryan Lawrence (Amanda), David Lawrence (Elizabeth), and Craig Lawrence; niece, Courtney Lawrence; and numerous Lawrence, Welsh, and Downing relatives in Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Bonnie’s body was cremated by Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, and the ashes will be interred at Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington. A Memorial Service will be held later.
The family wishes to thank the nursing home staff at The Plaza at Richardson for their attentive care, as well as the staff of Hopestone Hospice for end-of-life care.
Memorial donations are suggested to mental health organizations.
