Starlene Earnest

Starlene Earnest, age 78, of Centerville passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025. Starlene was born November 24, 1946 and was one of a kind. There wasn’t much she couldn’t do, and when she asked for your help, she wanted things done her way….. she sure didn’t mind telling you about either. She helped raise three of her younger siblings before meeting the love of her life, Bill, and starting her own family.

She really enjoyed and loved caring for her whole family, she loved riding horses, barrel racing, and going to play days, gardening and building stuff including her home, but she really loved to go fishing the most. She loved big family gatherings especially Thanksgiving and Christmas.

She enjoyed cooking for lots of people, it was the mess afterwards she didn’t care much for and she really enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. But her husband Bill was her whole life, he was her everything through the good and bad times and in sickness and in health. They were right there together. Even though we will miss her dearly, we know we will see her again one day. It is good to know she is with the love of her life and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Gone before her, husband, married 58 years 6 months, William Russell Earnest Sr. (Bill); mother, Mondell Orene Kelly; father, James Evan Hunderson; sister, Darlene Patricia Hollic; nephews, Shawn Phillip Kemper and Jeremy Hunderson; niece, Kendall Marie Hunderson.

Starlene is survived by 3 children, Lesia Meshell Seymour and husband, Brian Keith Seymour of Fayetteville, Texas, William Russell Earnest Jr. (Rusty) and wife, Kristy Earnest of Alvin. Texas, Leonna Jeanette Says and husband, Thomas Says (Tom); 7 grandchildren, Savannah Meshell and husband, Cody Tucker of Galveston, Deliliah Ray of Alvin, William Russell Earnest III and wife, Hannah of San Antonio, Laurie Lee and husband, Jose Arevalo of Alvin, Ashley Jeanette Barkdull and husband, Matt of Cypress, Kimberly Wooster of Alvin, Evan Wooster and wife, Deena of Alvin; 13 great-grandchildren, Jordan and Ella Cardena, Audrie and Abbie Bell, Mallory, Hannah, and George, Luna, Judah Isaiah and Jordan Douglas Wooster, Jasmine and Giana Arevalo and Evangeline Earnest; sisters and brothers, James Evan Hunderson Jr of Shenandoah, Dell Marie and Danny Ray Kemper of Centerville, Danny Lynn and Melissa Hunderson of Montgomery , Edward Ray Hunderson of Centerville, Lesia Ann and Danny Flores of Huntsville; 8 nieces and nephews and countless great-nieces and great-nephews.
