Lovelady Falls in Tough Playoff Loss

LOVELADY –   Lovelady Lions varsity baseball team fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 13-1 loss to Corrigan-Camden on Thursday, May 4. Corrigan-Camden scored on an error, two walks and a single in the first inning.

The Lions struggled to contain the high-powered Corrigan-Camden offense, giving up 13 runs.

Corrigan-Camden’s pitching surrendered one run on two hits over two innings, striking out one and walking none.

Brady Mikes was on the pitcher’s mound for Lovelady, giving up 13 runs on ten hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out three.

Lance Pierce and Tyler Gilchrist each managed one hit for the Lions.

The loss caps off an overall winning season for Lovelady, finishing second in the district with a record of 8-2.
