City of Crockett Announces Spring Cleanup

CROCKETT – It’s the time many Crockett residents await eagerly – free big item trash drop-off at Piney Woods Sanitation Transfer Station at 400 North Durrett Dr. In Crockett.
The drop-off is available for Crockett residents only and identification will be required to enter. The event will be open to residents Saturday, April 22 from 8 a.m.-12 p.m.
There will be no charge for one 16 foot trailer or two regular-sized truck loads per household.
Items accepted include solid waste, such as household garbage, furniture, lumber, shingles and dried paint. Also allowed, items such as metal including sheet metal, pipe, scrap and cast iron. The facility will also accept large appliances and electronics including washers, dryers, air-conditioning units, computers and monitors.
There will be a fee for certain items such as tube monitors and televisions and unmounted car or truck tires.
They will not accept any household chemicals like cleaning fluid, drain cleaner, liquid paint or acid.
