CROCKETT –  A man was arrested Friday, Sept. 23 after causing a disturbance at a Crockett restaurant and making threats against law enforcement officers who responded to the incident.

Crockett Police Department (CPD) responded to a call about a man who refused to put on a shirt at the Whataburger restaurant located on East Loop 304 in Crockett.

Gabriel Anthony Reynosa had allegedly threatened the restaurant manager when asked to dress appropriately or leave the establishment. Reynosa then tried to go behind the counter which is for employees only. Several employees confirmed Reynosa caused an incident – and fearing for their own safety – contacted law enforcement.

The responding CPD officer placed Reynosa under arrest for disorderly conduct. While transporting Reynosa to the Houston County Jail, the arresting officer reported Reynosa made several threats against him. Reynosa allegedly told the officer, “You’re lucky you had that badge on you or I’d knock your (expletive deleted) out.”

While walking into the jail, Reynosa informed the officer her was a professional boxer. He further told the officer, “I’ll see you one day, (expletive deleted). You’re lucky I’m in handcuffs or I would (expletive deleted) you up.”

Reynosa continued to make threats to the CPD officer while being led by jail staff to a cell. The officer informed Reynosa he would also be charged with making a terroristic threat against a peace officer.

Upon further review of Reynosa’s criminal history, CPD discovered he had been previously convicted of making terroristic threats against family members and assault causing bodily harm to family members.

A disorderly conduct charge is a misdemeanor, while threatening a peace officer is a felony.

As of press time, Reynosa had bonded out of jail.
