Patricia Marie Webb Meyer age 74

After beating cancer for 11 years with strength and courage, Patty passed away at home at sunrise on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2018.  She was surrounded by her family and friends in her final days.

Patty was born on March 6, 1944 in Jackson, Mississippi to Ernest Linwood Webb, Jr. and Frances Pitts Grant Webb.  She graduated from Averett College in Danville, Virginia in June 1964.  Patty married William Larry Meyer on November 20, 1964 at Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, Arizona.  She and Larry moved to Crockett with their two daughters in 1970.

Patty loved Crockett and Houston County.  She loved giving her time and her heart to others.  She dedicated her life to her family, friends, and many organizations in the community, which include:  Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of the Pines, Pineywoods Fine Arts Association Board of Directors, First Presbyterian Church Community Handbell Choir, Crockett Lions Club, Houston County Liaison for Texas Lions Camp, Crockett Garden Club, Houston County Forest Land Owners Association, Crockett Area Chamber of Commerce Person of the Year 1985 and 2008, Houston County Fair Secretary, Critter Crew Buyers Group, Houston County Go Texan Committee , Crockett Civic Center Auction Committee, Emergency Services District, and Co-Founder of Christmas in Crockett with Dianne Rhone.  Patty was an active member of the First Christian Church of Crockett.  Her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched.

Patty is survived by her husband of 54 years, William Larry Meyer; daughters, Susan Butler Meyer Patterson and husband, Merlin (Pat) of The Woodlands, Sally Grant Meyer Brannen and husband, John Michael of Crockett; her precious grandsons, William Michael Brannen of Ft. Worth and Grant Michael Brannen of College Station; sisters, Nancy Watson and husband, Danny of Prescott, AZ,  Judi Webb Blackwell and husband, Bill Swink of The Colony; sisters-in-law, Joan Gore of Rockford, IL and Marian Meyer of Huntingburg, IN; nieces and nephews, Angela Watson Grippe, Jennifer Ann Blackwell, Holly Lynn Blackwell, Phillip Meyer, Cyndi Thon, Gloria Reed, Scott Gore; and her Fairy Goddaughter, Rebecca Maiden Allen of Heath, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Webb; father, Colonel E.L. Webb; niece, Amy Rebecca Watson, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Grace and Amos Meyer; brothers-in-law, Kenton Meyer and Paul Gore; nephew Jon Meyer.

Celebration of life services for Patty Meyer was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2018 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Dr. Tim Allen officiating.  Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park.  Family received friends for visitation Wednesday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
