William L. Calcote

William L. Calcote, age 79, of Grapeland passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017 in Nacogdoches.  William was born September 3, 1938 in San Augustine County to parents, William Lawrence Calcote and Eva Christine Stallings Calcote.

He was a graduate of Redland High School and Stephen F. Austin College.  Will was a retired inspector with the Texas Department of Agriculture with 36 ½ years of service and for the past 12 years William was an enumerator for the USDA.  He was a member of the First Christian Church and also the Lothrop Lodge #21 AF&AM.

Will is survived by wife of 41 years, Patsy Beck Calcote of Grapeland; daughter, Laura Calcote of The Woodlands; beloved granddog, Texa Lynn; sister, Martha Roberts and husband, James of Lufkin; uncle, Donald Stallings of Lake Conroe; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents, Lawrence and Christine Calcote.

Funeral services for William L. Calcote were held Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Dr. Philip Chacko officiating.

Interment followed in the Burns Family Cemetery. Family received friends Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Callaway-Allee Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Davy Crockett Kennel Club, Mutt Nation, The Humane Society or the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.  Condolences may be left at www.callawayallee.com
