Frances Wanell Rymer

Frances Wanell Rymer, age 81, of Pasadena, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at her home in Pasadena, Texas.  Frances was born October 15, 1937 in Latexo, Texas to parents, Luther Small and Faye Selman Small.  She spent most of her life as a homemaker and loved children so much that she worked as an emergency foster parent for approximately ten years and operated a daycare from her home as well.  In her younger years, she enjoyed amusement parks and the biggest rides they had to offer.  Frances was a sporty woman, serving as captain of her high school varsity volleyball and basketball teams and also was on several bowling teams during her midlife.  She would participate in family reunion softball games and enjoyed watching NFL football as well.  Frances enjoyed playing the card game Spades, also Dominoes, and was instrumental in teaching her children how to play these games; it was a very common activity for her to have all day tournament parties.  Being an excellent cook, she won first place several times for her orange cake and was also known for her homemade fudge, divinity candy, and chocolate turtles.  Everyone loved her buttermilk cornbread with her famous goulash, fried chicken, fried catfish and awesome roast. Frances loved her grandchildren spending all the time she could with them.  Frances loved to travel and has been to many places including Italy, Washington DC, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, California, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida and Mexico with Las Vegas being her favorite destination where she liked playing the slot machines.

Frances is survived by husband, Albert Cosey of Pasadena, TX; children, Debra Redden & Debbie Bennett of Santa Fe, TX, Chester “Rocky” Strange of Baytown, TX, Scott & Nadia Rymer of Pomona, CA, Gary & Monica Rymer of Splendora, TX, Sharon Vasquez of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Sandee Kokes, Haley Rymer, Raychell Rymer, Jehoshua Rymer, Paige Rymer, Christian Rymer, Carson Rymer Logan Rymer, Maci Rymer; great-grandchild, Zane Kokes; numerous other nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by son, David Allen Farmer; parents, Luther and Faye Small; brother, Harold Small; sisters, Margaret McKinney, Betty Lucas, Norma Fowler.

Funeral services for Frances Wanell Rymer were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2018 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Dr. Tim Allen officiating. Interment followed in the Latexo Cemetery.  Family received friends from visitation at noon prior to service.
