Violet “Peggy” Walala Wells Shotwell

Violet “Peggy” Walala Wells Shotwell, age 91, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Baptist Memorial Nursing Home.  Violet was born July 19, 1927 in Blackjack, Texas to parents, Charlie H. Wells and Myrtie Mae Crumb Wells.

Peggy is survived by her sons, Bobby Shotwell and wife, Juliana of Pennington, James Henry Shotwell and wife, Becky of San Angelo, Edward Lee Shotwell of San Angelo; daughters, Wanda Frankie and husband, Kevin of San Angelo, Nancy Ruth Strain and husband, Don of Pearland, Beverly Bratton and husband, Bob of Lampasas; brother, Lee Edmond Wells and wife, Doris of Crockett; 28 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. “Rube” Shotwell; sons, Johnny Dewyane Shotwell, Thomas Loyd Shotwell; father, Charlie Wells; mother, Myrtie Mae Crumb Wells; sister, Florence Walker; 3 brothers.

Funeral services for Violet “Peggy” Walala Wells Shotwell were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2018 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Bro. Bud McGee officiating.  Interment to follow in the Latexo Cemetery.  Family will receive friends for visitation Monday 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
