Nellie Marie Jones Currie

Nellie Marie Jones Currie, age 83, of Latexo passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in the Houston County Nursing Home.  Nellie was born September 7, 1935 in Houston County to parents, Roy W. Jones and Cora Mae Graham Jones.  After working for many years, she retired from the Houston County Clerk Office as a Deputy Clerk.  Nellie was also a longtime member of Latexo Baptist Church and San Pedro Baptist Church.  Nellie was known for her wonderful cooking, canning and quilting

She is survived by sons, Mark Currie of Latexo, Mack Currie and wife, Teresa of Lovelady; daughter-in-law, Katie Currie of Latexo; grandchildren, Justin Currie and Candice Pitman of Latexo, Callie Currie and Cameron Runnels of Latexo, Cody Currie and wife, Amber of Lovelady, Colton Currie of Lovelady; great-grandchildren, Bryce Currie, Brilee Currie, Brentley Kinkelaar, Skyler Luce, Teagan and Peyton Runnels, Cannon Currie; brother, Roy Jones and wife, Nell of Latexo; brother-in-law, Ben Shoemake of Latexo.   She was preceded in death by husband, Jessie Lee Currie; son, Meridth Currie; granddaughters, Cassie, Cara and Kacie Currie; parents, Roy and Cora Mae Jones; brothers, Clyde Jones and wife, Tencha, Wallace Jones and wife, Nell; sister, Sally Shoemake.

Funeral services for Nellie Marie Jones Currie were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2018 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel.  Interment will follow in the Latexo Cemetery.  Family received friends for visitation Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Latexo Cemetery Association, 1854 Fm 2663, Crockett, TX 75835.
