Robert “Bob” Rounsavall

Robert “Bob” Rounsavall, age 87, of Grapeland, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, the 23rd day of June, 2018 at Woodland Heights Medical Center in Lufkin. He was born on the 17th day of February, 1931, in Kaufman, Texas to William Arthur Rounsavall and Lillie Mae Jaynes Rounsavall. Bob worked for the City of Grapeland after his retirement from Dupont. He served our country serving in the United States Army during the Korean War. There was never a dull moment with Bob. He loved to dance, was a good story teller and always spoke his mind. He also liked to travel with the P.C.C. Cruisers. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his wife, Lesia. They were the best of friends who did everything together. Bob was a member of Percilla Community Church and will be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lillie Rounsavall; father-in-law, Leon Leamons; daughter, Cheri’ “Sherrie” Lynn Clifton and brother, Reginald Jaynes “Billy” Rounsavall.

Bob is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lesia Leamons Rounsavall; grandchildren, Robert Sonner and Cindy Skinner, John and Whitney Walker; mother-in-law, Bernice Leamons; sister-in-law, Brenda Leamons Russell; niece, Leslie Russell; grand dogs, Midge and Mabel and numerous other relatives and friends.

Friends were cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the 26th day of June, 2018 at Percilla Community Church.

Funeral services for Robert Rounsavall were conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, the 27th day of June, 2018 at Percilla Community Church. Josh Lindsey, Kenny Bush and Mikey Osborne officiated.

A graveside service with Military Honors officiated by Jonathan Lilley was held later in the evening on Wednesday, the 27th day of June at 6:30 p.m. in Athens, Texas at the Rounsavall Cemetery.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Denny Stewart, Carl Brown, Eric Ashworth, Cliff Lasiter, Joe Dale Dickerson and Hayse Willingham. Honorary pallbearers were Tom Keepers, Lonnie Merritt, Jimmy Ray Shaw and Joe Wilkerson.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requested that memorial contributions be directed to Waters Edge Encampment, 7900 FM 1733, Crockett, Texas 75835.
