Anderson County Fair Crowns Grand Champions and Reserve Champions

HOUSTON COUNTY – The Anderson County Youth Livestock Association Show kicked off this past week and while the final dollar figures from Thursday’s Sale of Champions were unavailable as of press time, the Grand Champion, Reserve Champion and Showmanship awards for the various categories and classes have been presented to the exhibitors.

Tuesday saw the Cayuga FFA Team #2 capture the Grand Champion’s Award in the Non-Sale Projects Category as well as the award for Best in Show. The Reserve Champion was the Neches FFA Team #2.

In the Sale Projects Category, the Palestine FFA Team #1 took home Grand Champion honors while the Reserve Champion honors went to the Elkhart FFA Team #3.

The Commercial Heifer category Jr. Class saw Scott Black from the Ioni Creek 4-H club win Grand Champion award in the Jr. Class, while Ben Bridges also with the Ioni Creek 4-H won honors as Reserve Champion.

 

In the Commercial Heifer category Sr. Class, Morgan Turner with the Cayuga FFA, took home top honors as Grand Champion while Colton Croft with the Palestine FFA was named as Reserve Champion.

In the Market Steer Category, Peyton Sanders, with the Cayuga FFA, took home the Grand Champion’s award.  Scott Black from the Ioni Creek 4-H club, received the Reserve Champion award.

In the Non-Registered Breeding Heifer category, Scott Black with the Ioni Creek 4-H scored big and walked away with the Grand Champion’s banner. Jeb Chapin, also with the Ioni Creek 4-H, was named as Reserve Champion.  

In the Registered Heifer category, Kyndal Chapin with the Ioni Creek 4-H took home the Grand Champion honors while Eli Gabriel was presented with the Reserve Champion award.

In the Market Rabbits Division, HBC 4-H’s Adelyn Shanks received the top award as Grand Champion. Elizabeth Poland, also with the HBC 4-H, was named as Reserve Champion.

In the Breeding Rabbits category, Hannah Bryant, with the Cayuga FFA, received the Grand Champion awards in the Jr. Buck class and was named Best in Show. Meanwhile, Jaycee Bridges, with the Ioni Creek 4-H, received Reserve Champion honors in the Jr. Buck class.

In the Jr. Doe class of the Breeding Rabbits category, Kennedy Moore with Neches FFA received Grand Champion honors. Heaven Paquette, with the Elkhart FFA received the Sr. Showmanship award while Cayden Barton, with the Ioni Creek 4-H was awarded Jr. Showmanship honors.

The Grand Champion award in the Broiler category went to Clayton Conrad, from the Cayuga FFA. The Reserve Champion was Gracie Conrad, also with the Cayuga FFA.

In the Market Lamb category, Peyton Sanders with the Cayuga FFA was named as Grand Champion while Brittany Vineyard took home the award for Reserve Champion.

Heaven Paquette from the Elkhart FFA swept both the Grand Champion and Reserve Champion awards in the Breeding Goat category.

In the Market Goats category, Amanda Scheppler with the Cayuga 4-H was named Grand Champion while Brianna Brooks from the Ioni Creek 4-H was named as Reserve Champion.

In the Market Swine Category, Dominique Gaines with the Palestine FFA received the award as Grand Champion. The award for Reserve Champion went to Kelley Ashley from the Cayuga FFA chapter.

In the Breeding Swine Category, Hailey Crawford with the Palestine FFA received the Grand Champion’s award while the Reserve Champion honor went to Hallie Armour with the Westwood FFA.
