Don Calvin Bartmess

Don Calvin Bartmess, age 74, of Centerville, TX passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Olin E. Teague Veterans Medical Center in Temple, TX.  He was born October 20, 1943 in Memphis, TN to parents Eugene Clifford Bartmess, Sr. and Era Leida Pauline Carr Bartmess.  Don served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

He was a master brick mason and contractor as well as a “Jack of All Trades”.  He attended the River of Life Church in Leon County.

Don was an honorable and kind hearted man who loved his family fiercely.

Don is survived by his wife of 46 years, Venita Bartmess of Crockett, TX; daughters, Michelle Bartmess Sandlin of Tishomingo, OK and Chris Bartmess Garrett and Jeff Baker of Lexington, KY; son, Randy Lewing and Mindy Miller of Chandler, TX; grandchildren, Garrett Lewing of Centerville, TX, Ari, Ava, and Audrey Sandlin of Tishomingo, OK; great-granddaughter, Madelyn Lewing of Huntsville, TX; siblings, Betty Conner of Carrollton, TX, Harold Bartmess of Malakoff, TX, Bobby Bartmess and wife, Junie of Carrollton, TX, Jack Bartmess and wife, Katy of Mesquite, TX, and Sue Bartmess Lott of Memphis, TN.  Numerous other loving relatives and friends mourn his passing.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Leida Bartmess; siblings, Patsy, Ronnie, Louise, Cliff, Jr., Michael, Linda and Glenn.

Funeral services for Don Calvin Bartmess were held Friday, February 23, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Bro.
