Christmas came early for the U.S. Taxpayer this year!
For the first time in 31 years our local Congressman, Kevin Brady (Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee) and the rest of the U.S. Congress, the U.S. Senate and President Trump have taken on the behemoth tax code. This is a phenomenal accomplishment.
Now if you listen to Democrats like Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Elizabeth Warren and the self-proclaimed Socialist Bernie Sanders, you would soon learn that this tax code reform is going to kill children, the elderly and the seas will rise ending all life as we know it. If you think that I am kidding, turn on your TV or go on Twitter and watch the liberal hysteria. The like-minded Media has also joined in on the circus of the clowns.
The Democrats have labeled the Tax Reform or Tax Cut Bill the “GOP Tax Scam”. Just remember, The Democrats have NEVER met a tax they didn’t like. And now, suddenly, they’ve found economics religion. They are NOW worried about the national debt … after 44 raised it by $10 Trillion. Nancy Pelosi is worried about plutocracy. I’ll admit, I had to look up the definition (government by the wealthy). Nancy Pelosi’s estimated net worth for 2014 was $23 million. Hmmmm. Nan’s been in government for 30 years ……
Nan’s also worried about what this Tax Cut Bill does to Medicaid & Medicare (comments on this subject are below). Somewhere between 13 to 20 million people are going to lose their “mandated” insurance coverage. Key word being “mandated”. The “mandate” has been removed in this bill. If you want insurance, you can choose to buy it … or not.
Chuck and Nan are really worried about their state and local tax (“SALT”) deductions being capped. Short version, California and New York have really high income and property taxes. That’s not the rest of the nation’s fault, yet we have been subsidizing it for years. It’s complicated. Best to just look it up on Google.
One Democratic Senator, Jeff Merkley, of Oregon, stated the following on his Twitter account:
“Unbelievable. GOP just pulled off the biggest bank heist in US history & they’re delivering the loot – >$1 trillion out of our national treasury – to the wealthiest Americans & big corporations. We must fight back harder than ever for our “We the People” vision of our democracy.”
With this tweet, it sounds like someone is going up to the “national treasury” window with an “assault” pistol (wink and a smile here) and “withdrawing” $1 trillion of the government’s money. Where did the government get that money? From the taxpayer.
“We the People.” I’m pretty sure most of “We” would like to be able to keep more of “Our” hard earned money. Goodness knows “We” know how to spend it better than the government ($16 Billion in Medicare Advantage improper payments and $60 Billion in Medicare overpayments for the year 2016. This isn’t including the Medicare/Medicaid fraud for 2016. Just improper or overpayments.).
Which brings me to my closing.
If you are a Democrat and are so disgusted by the Tax Cut Bill, BY ALL MEANS, FEEL FREE TO VOLUNTARILY PAY MORE TAXES ON APRIL 15TH. Heck, send a weekly check to the IRS if you are that upset! There is nothing, absolutely nothing, preventing you from doing this.
If you don’t put “your” money where your mouth is, THEN BE QUIET. Truly committed Democrats or Socialists would be willing to pay extra taxes voluntarily and with a smile on their face.
For those of us who like keeping our hard-earned money, MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR – with a little more in your stocking next year, courtesy of the REPUBLICANS!
