Mrs. Bennie Ruth Brannen Walker

Mrs. Bennie Ruth Brannen Walker, born July 17, 1927 in Pennington, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017 in Tyler. Mrs. Walker attended Baylor University and graduated from Sam Houston State Teachers College with a B.S. degree in Home Economics. She taught school in Dickinson, Texas where she met her husband, V. Osia Walker. In 1953, they returned to Pennington where he became co-owner of Brannen & Walker Farm Supply with Joe T. Brannen and Johnny Brannen. In 1980, they sold the business and in 1996 moved to Crockett. Mrs. Walker was a member of First Baptist Church of Crockett. Preceding Mrs. Walker in death are husband V.O. Walker and brother and sister-in-law Joe T. & Jean Brannen.

Survivors include son, Donald Ross Walker and wife, Vivian, of Tyler; daughter, Janet Ruth Walker Hamilton and husband, Chuck of Midland; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial services for Mrs. Bennie Ruth Brannen Walker were held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2017 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel.  Visitation was held at Callaway-Allee Funeral Home on Monday from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
