John Roland Chambles

John Roland Chambles, age 87, of Latexo, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017 in Crockett. Roland was born November 27, 1929 in El Campo to parents, John W. Chambles and Louise Nodor Chambles. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Navy. Roland was a retired pipefitter and a member of the Pipefitters Local #195 in Beaumont. He was also a member of the Latexo Methodist Church and the Lothrop Masonic Lodge #21 AF & AM.

Roland is survived by wife, Ollie Myrtle Chambles of Latexo; children, Kenneth Earl Chambles of Vidor and Sherree Pipps and husband, John of Nederland; daughter-in-law, Annie Chambles of Vidor; eight grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by son, John Delton Chambles; grandchildren, Brandy Chambles and Joseph Chambles.

Funeral services for John Roland Chambles were held Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Richard Gillet officiating. Interment followed in the Latexo Cemetery.
