Charline Spearman Gibson

Charline Spearman Gibson, age 71 of Kennard, passed away Friday, August 11, 2017 in Houston Methodist Hospital. Charline was born September 26, 1945 in Houston to parents, Albert Spearman and Jeanette Mills Spearman. Charline was raised in Houston and married Terry Gibson in Houston in 1963. Charline became to know The Lord and started teaching a Sunday School Class at age 18 and taking her role as a minister’s wife. She worked closely with her husband being a helpmate and raising her daughters and then became known as supermom.

Charline is survived by husband of 53 years, Rev. Terry Gibson of Kennard; daughters, Renetta Hight and husband, Michael of Waxahachie, Rebecca Canales and husband, John of Friendswood, Robbin Gibson of Kennard; honorary daughter, Denise Shoemake and husband, Cliff of Guam; honorary son, Gerald Gibson of Kennard; son-in-law, Mark Sebren of Tyler; grandchildren, Joshua and Sarah Sebren of Friendswood, Jacob Sebren of Houston, Jared Sebren of Tyler, Andy and Elizabeth Canales of Dallas, Ashlee Adams of Kennard, Jordan, Caleb and Emma Canales of Friendswood; honorary grandchildren, Coy Westbrook of College Station, Savannah Westbrook of Kennard, Kyle Dodd of Kennard; great-grandchildren, Solomon Canales of Dallas, Olivia Sebren of Friendswood; sisters and brothers, Kathleen Palmer of Conroe, Diann Westbrook of Kennard, James Spearman of Crockett, Gary Spearman of New Caney, John Spearman of Colmesneil, Anthony Spearman and wife, Renda of New Caney.

She was preceded in death parents, Albert Spearman and Jeanette and Ed Black, Elvin and Oma Dell Gibson; brothers, Grant Spearman, Allen Spearman; sister-in-law, Linda Spearman.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 10:30 in the Good Shepherd Fellowship in Crockett. Interment will follow in the Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends for visitation Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Callaway-Allee Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shady Grove Baptist Church.
