Bobbye Carole Smith

Bobbye Carole Smith, age 83, passed away Monday, November 19, 2018 in Legacy at Town Creek in Palestine.  She was born July 8, 1935 in Centerville, Texas to parents, Milton Lowe and Hazel Dixon Lowe.  Bobbye never met a stranger, she and her husband Smitty, created many lasting friendships through their convenience stores.  She loved volleyball, horse racing, going to the casino and was very artistic.

Bobbye is survived by her four daughters, Kalinda Franklin and husband, Chuck of Grapeland, Vicki McDaniel of Grapeland, Sharon Walker and Gerald Willis of Grapeland, Ronda Dailey and husband, James of Latexo; grandchildren, James “Peanut” Ingle and wife, Jessica, Jan Smith, Shelly Franklin, Michael McDaniel, Garry McDaniel, Sam Vaden and husband, Greg, Lisa Hampton, Cindy Jo “CJ” Shamblin and husband, Jacob, Phillip “Buster” Miller and wife, Jenifer, Stacey McCraw and husband, Sam, Tracey Moffett and husband, Jimmy, Danielle Melson; 28 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; brother Larry Lowe of Richardson; special niece, Donna Beatty Vorse of Zavalla; numerous other loving relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon E. “Smitty” Smith; sister, Susie Walker; parents, William and Hazel Denby.

Funeral services for Bobbye Carole Smith were held at 12 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2018 in the Grapeland First United Methodist Church with Rev. Will Yates and Rev. Jerome Simpson officiating.  Interment followed in the San Pedro Cemetery.  Family received friends for visitation at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.
